Farrier Corporol TS/6013, 8th H.T. Company, Army service Corps,
died on Thursday 23rd december 1915 age 33.
The eldest son of William a carter on farm and Sarah Hawtin.
The husband of Selena Hawtin of Ilmington.
He was born in Whichford, resided in Ilmington and enlisted in Stratford on Avon. John arrived in Egypt on Tuesday 27th April 1915
Buried in the Cairo War Memorial Cemetery, Egypt, section D. Grave 230.
He is also commemorated on the Whichford War Memorial,br> Entitled to 1914-15 Star, British war medal and the Victory Medal.
